About the Opportunity

The Quality Control Assistant will be responsible for helping the Quality Control Manager retain ISO certification and ensure that policies, procedures and other controlled documents are up to date.

Aspects of this role include creating, revising and tracking controlled documents; managing NCR's and related data entry; initiating continuous improvements and/or corrective actions; compiling and summarizing quality data on a quarterly basis; completing internal audits; helping with external quality audits; executing customer feedback initiatives; and/or completing physical QC checks by walking through shops and asking questions. 

The position is based out of our offices in Sperling, MB.  Monday to Friday starting at 8am.  OT and weekend work may be required on an infrequent basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and update controlled documents as required
  • Instigate and perform internal audits
  • Manage and sort Quality Data in a neat and well-kept fashion
  • Compile, sort and enter all submitted NCR’s; complete NCR’s as required
  • Through Continuous Improvement (CI), Corrective Action (CA), Project Closeout (PC) and Business Disruptor risks (BDR), identify and pursue ways to prevent NCR’s from repeating; ensure NCR’s are adequately solved
  • Review and compile quarterly data
  • Track and pursue customer feedback ideas
  • Maintain accurate documentation during shop walk throughs and report findings to Manager

Required Skills, Qualifications and education:

  • Candidate must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Written and Verbal Communication proficiency is required
  • Experience in Structural and Mechanical disciplines in an industrial sector is an asset
  • Experience or training in an office setting is an asset
  • Must be self motivated and organized with excellent documentation/communication skills
  • Work with other employees efficiently and respectfully
  • Positive attitude with success in mind
  • Make and exercise decisions based on sound judgement
  • Be able to work independently and manage deadlines
